We've arrived! To be able to have enough time to enjoy the mountains, we had to leave friday after I got off of work, which is 9pm. Driving through the night and stopping halfway through to fill up our cooler and walk the boys, we finally arrived at our campground at 4:30 am! We tried to be polite when setting up our tent because we noticed PLENTY of other tents next to us, but it's amazingly hard to be quiet. Dustin pounding in the stakes and me literally pumping up our air mattresses, (we didn't totally rough it), we finally get to bed around 6 in the morning. Behold! An 8 am wake up call from our neighbor campers, 9-13 year old boy scouts! I guess that's karma for getting in so late and probably waking them up! Luckily they left the next day :) Here's our weekend trip to the mountains! Enjoy!
Where's Oliver!?
He's not sleeping, the sun was just in his eyes ;)
These kids asked if they could "freeze" Dustin, they had special powers. I thought they were going to shoot him with the bow and arrow, not freeze him!
Grandfather Mountain
Valle Crucis. View from back of the Mast General Store.
Wiseman's Bluff "Grand Canyon of the East"
A local told us to drive 2 miles up this mountain and check out the view from the top! We literally whispered to each other because it was SO quiet and peaceful. Pictures do not do it justice.
